Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA, 南京航空航天大学
) was founded in 1952 and is now a prestigious university in China. Situated on the site of the ancient Ming Palace, this university covers a beautiful area of 160 hectares and involves 10 colleges and more than 50 research institutions, specializing in engineering and aerospace, automation and mechanicals, material science and information technology, economics and management as well as humanities and social sciences.
In 1996, NUAA succeeded in becoming one of China's 100 most prestigious universities for the 21st century (China's 211 Project). It is subordinated to the Commission of National Defense Science, Technology and Industry of China. In the published Chinese University Ranking 2003-5 compiled by netbig.com, this university was ranked 44th among 686 selected Chinese universities.
NUAA also possesses strong potentials for further development and has been trying to broaden the scope of its services by cooperating with Jiangsu Province and CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China). The university has taken a great interest in international exchange and cooperation and has signed long-term collaborative agreements with many international institutions. |
